Usually, we determine and select the size of the relay contact capacity based on the size of the load power. The contact capacity of a relay refers to the maximum current allowed to pass through the relay contacts operating at rated voltage, known as the relay contact capacity. The size of the contact capacity is the voltage applied to the contacts and the ability to pass through the contact current, calculated by the load power, The capacity of the contact should not be exceeded (this calculation is very simple, the current is obtained by dividing the load power by the voltage). For example, automotive relays have many nominal capacities, ranging from a few A to around 150A, and their applications are manifested in various circuits. Improper selection and use can lead to certain consequences. Usually, there are two situations that we see: one is using small materials to make a big difference, and what is using small materials to make a big difference? It is a dangerous method of using small capacity relays in circuits with high current flow. Once powered on, the relay will instantly burn out, and in severe cases, it may cause safety hazards. Another method is to use large capacity relays in circuits with small currents, which is called "big talent small use".
